Lessons from a Master:

      This little drawing sums up just how I felt after attending a writing workshop with the fab Dandi Daley Mackall.

         ( I was scribbling down notes as fast as I could
trying to scoop up some of her wisdom.)

    She encouraged us to

• keep a daily journal
• list our activities using nouns/verbs
• pay attention to smells & sounds
• identify "frozen moments"from our past

Oh...and did I fail to mention
...each of us received a written manuscript critique!!!

  It was an all day workshop-
  the first session was all about picture books,
 the second concerned writing novels.

Although I can't see myself writing a novel
I decided to stay.

   I was so glad I did!
We got to see a preview of her book-turned -film My Boyfriends's Dogs.

And, even though it was geared to MG and YA - I found some material could still be applied to #PBs.
